We support practitioners and residential teams to develop confident, reflective, relationship-based practice that truly keeps children and young people at the centre of care.

Working within children’s services and residential settings can be both deeply rewarding and highly complex. Our training explores attachment, trauma, developmental experiences, and the impact of adversity, helping professionals understand behaviour as communication and respond with curiosity, consistency, and connection rather than control.

Alongside theory, we focus strongly on practical application. We provide teams with realistic, evidence-informed strategies that can be embedded into everyday routines, transitions, and key moments of challenge within residential environments.

A key element of our work is a play-based relational approach. We explore how playfulness, creativity, and attuned interactions can reduce defensiveness, build trust, and strengthen connections — even with young people who may struggle to engage verbally or relationally. Practitioners learn how to use safe, developmentally appropriate play and interaction to support regulation, repair ruptures, and foster emotional growth.

We also create reflective spaces for teams to consider their own responses, stress patterns, and relational dynamics, strengthening self-awareness and reducing burnout. Through consultancy and ongoing support, we help organisations build cultures that are trauma-informed, psychologically safe, and grounded in meaningful relationships.

The result is more confident staff, more stable environments, and better long-term outcomes for children, young people, and the wider system supporting them.
